The True Ninja Gaiden Marathon speedrun

Finally finished editing/rendering/uploading/processing!
The past Saturday 4th I did a marathon speedrun of NGB, NG2 and Razor’s Edge, all on their highest difficulty, back to back.
Took me close to half a day and two months of training, but it’s finally done.

I added many comments in iMovie, including several compliments to other players I specifically know I’ve learned things from (most of them recently), but I’m sure I forgot a lot of people.

I hadn’t played this much time straight since the first Red Dead Redemption came out, when I was 16.
This was my final speedrun project, as I’ve discovered speedrunning is quite addictive, and it isn’t even my preffered way to play NG.

NOTE:
If any of you feel like attempting the Trilogy run, remember the rules were made so that no one would be left out, and they allow for any combination of the different versions of the 3 games. That means you can go from Vanillas to Sigmas and back, or even change consoles mid-run.
Which means you can do the Trilogy run no matter what your preffered versions are!
The second and third difficulty leves are still empty.

Won't be able to watch this in one sitting but this sounds like an incredible run, over 10 hours straight is mental.

Congrats man, I imagine the time will put most off going for this but it's cool that this run is out there.

I play games so slow this would probably take me a solid 10 hours per game on Normal.

The focus of speed runners has always really impressed me, even for games made for it like Resident Evil I have a really hard time even making the S rank times. Good job man, take a rest! :p

JTB: Yes, man, 10+ hours is insane. On newer consoles and better skills I think it could be done in about an hour less. I don’t think anyone will watch it in one sitting.
I complimented you for several tactics, so I hope you enjoy the run!

Murphy: It’s weird to think of myself as a speedrunner… I started speedrunning on 2020 at the height of the pandemic as a hobby, and now it’s been two years and I’ve invested way more hours, weeks and months than I originally intended to. And despite appereances it’s not even my preffered way to play any NG game!
Not only will I 100% take a break, this was my final speedrun project.

So my cousin Frank came to visit last weekend and he brought his Switch. He suggested it would be interesting to record another NG Trilogy run but this time without any previous training and showcasing a different combination of the NG games. I was easily sold on the idea
However, the fourth difficulty level is way too hardcore to attempt without previous training, so I decided the third one (the second highest) would be ideal. As for the games, I chose both Sigmas on his Switch, and then Vanilla NG3 on my X360.

As for routing, on Saturday Frank played through Sigma 1 while I wrote everything down, and we watched my own Sigma 2 and NG3 runs. Then we recorded on Sunday.
No training means no time for memorizing anything, so I played while Frank read me my notes for the 3 games.

Thus, this video is Sigma, Sigma 2 and Vanilla NG3 completed back to back on their third difficulty level: Very Hard - Mentor - Master Ninja.
New game, Any%, No glitches, Single segment.

It's not as worthy a project, for I didn't train and I only invested a few days in it, but I thought I'd share is on this same thread.
Now I'm truly done with speedruns. For real, this time haha.

I forgot. I asked my cousin to record the Sigma leaderboards on his Switch, so that we could have a complete, proper leaderboard with all platforms included.
However, he said his Switch is jailbroken, he didn’t acquire the games in the most legitimate fashion, and his settings prevent his Switch from connecting to Nintendo’s servers.
So it’s a no go.
