If you bought the game from them, it is.

Annoying as the online pass system is, it's a pretty smart way to combat the used market.

Wow the game is released? I haven't been paying any attention at all

It's really sad to see all the negative reviews. I was hoping the game would be great. :sob:

And combat the downloaded it market , unless you just buy an online pass off ebay for $5

I'm not saying I like it, just that it makes sense from a business standpoint.

GamesRadar - 3 out of 10

http://www.gamesradar.com/ninja-gaiden-3-review/

Basically, the review range from "hey this game is kinda decent and I don't die a lot slash-slash-slash!" to "wow, this game is a piece of SHIT"

Can you guess which one I fall under? :D

I don't have the game yet, but was wondering if any improvements have been made to Ninja Cinema.

Are there any playback controls?

Played it for a bit, and I must say it is both hit and miss. Combat is quite gratifying, but sometimes the controls don't respond too well, when dodging for example. Going to play some more to see what else I notice.

Really? That's a bit crap. If there's one thing NC needed, it was playback controls.

Has it been improved upon in any way at all? Or just the same old NC?

I'm on Day 3 or 4, can't remember. Playing Hard. Controls are not as responsive as in previous titles, and moves you perform seem almost random at times. Heck, sometimes I can't even tell if I'm using an OT or a SoB. Challenging or cheap at times; enemies are usually cannon fodder, until you get three alchemist dudes at the end and you get perforated by their Tetris-attacks. Played a few trials as well; it is fun but that's about it. The gameplay has been streamlined so much that there is little room to improvise combo's, and at the same time you're freeforming like crazy. Also, movelist during gameplay is an afterthought, luckily it can be turned off.

Enemies are way to chatty, even when dying. Setpieces in the game are cool from what I've seen so far, and the mid-boss checkpoints are a good idea. It looks alright, but the technological leap from NG2 to NG3 is virtually non-existent. TN needs to make a whole new engine in terms of graphics power IMO. NGB looks still great by today's standards, as does NG2. But NG3 is overall more... bland. It has its moments, but not nearly enough as in NGB/NG2. Or I might have seen too little so far. No real crazy levels like the Core from NGB or the lair of the Greater Fiends in NG2.

As an action game, it is alright. But as a Ninja Gaiden game, it could have used a lot more work in a lot of ways.

If NG4 should ever be considered by TN, they need to bring back the elements that made NGB/NG2 great and improve on them from there.

On a positive side: the story is somewhat better now.

Do you think you'll be playing it in a month or so? And do you think you'll 1000 it?

I think I'm already done with it , the weapon DLC doesn't even interest me any more because the core game play engine is so dull.

I'm not sure. Maybe mess around in the MP but that's it. I'm no veteran NG player but I'm wise enough to know when a game isn't packing any lasting appeal.

Apart from multiplayer, can anyone see any sort of lasting competitive appeal at all in this game? NGB had mission mode + Story Mode karma runs, NG2 at least had survival mode. But what does NG3 have? Is there anything that we, as a community, can scrape out of this game? Or is it just not worth the hassle?

I'm clutching at straws here!

Master Ninja mode does have a Karma system as does Ninja Trials but eh I'd rather :headbash:

What. How come the other modes don't have a karma system? This is bizarre.

Ooh! Maybe they'll be in the DLC!

Karma system for all difficulties - 800 points
Easily accessible combo list - 200 points
Eagle for your avatar - 200 points
Fun - 1200 points

What else?

If I had money, and a job, and any free time, I would buy this game. Probably. It's hard to resist. But is it just a one or two playthrough game? It's really not seeming like something you could put hundreds of hours into...

Looks like just the Karma system from the Trials pretty much. I don't have MN unlocked nor the desire to unlock it , just going by vids.
