In search of Ultraviol3nt ToV1 DS vid
Hello everyone,
It's been a while. Good to see some familiar names :)
Recently I fired up my 360 and started an OLB MNM DS only run. Then I reached ToV1 and I remembered how UV finished it in style once with a lvl3 DS, diving straight in utilizing mainly the 360UT.
Massaca already pointed out that UV's vids are not on this forum (anymore) sadly.
Does anyone else still has access to that vid?
I haven't played for years and I want to see some combo details. Right now my finesse is not really there and I get destroyed lol.

Either you're Dutchman, or this is one hell of a coincidence haha. But yeah I'd also love to see that vid if anyone has it.

I thought I had this tucked away on my hard drive but sadly not, I do still have his hard karma run vids though
This is a real shame as I remember that video being one of the very first ones that showed people how to really play the game. His control of Ryu and instict when to use moves was incredibly smart.

Sad part is his Youtube is dead and he was last here 2 years ago :/
Only a couple people I think might have it. PG being one but he hasn't been around in quite some time either.

Yes, I remember he played very consistent. And I thought too I saved that vid. It's no easy task with all the slowdown and aggression. I think the game itself has problems with everything going on there.
It also feels the agresssion can vary to insane levels, while sometimes the mages stop shooting for a little while or the IS ninjas throw a little less IS. I think the key is to keep going in a certain rhythm and also on/off screen seems to matter. So I was hoping to see the choices he made.
PG should be still on my XBL I think. Gonna send him a PM and ask, as well as some others too. Thanks for the input guys

Yes, off screen matters, but only for certain enemies.PinnacleInSync wrote: ↑Thu Jun 04, 2020 1:28 pmIt also feels the agresssion can vary to insane levels, while sometimes the mages stop shooting for a little while or the IS ninjas throw a little less IS. 1) Mages stop shooting completely off screen
2) Purple Van Gelfs stop shooting most of the time off screen
3) Archers keep shooting but have a higher chance to miss u off screen
that is it to my knowledge... all other enemies do not care lol

Thanks, I was aware of this, but I felt ToV1 wasn't always abiding by these rules.
But I'm now realising they keep 'starting' their moves in quick succesion, so maybe when both are off screen without starting an attack, they won't.
I also feel sometimes the IS ninjas literally stick you with tons of IS, while at times you just receive on or two and also when there are no delimbed enemies present.
I've continued my OLB DS run for now, but this has always been on my list, so I will get back to it.

IS Ninja still throw IS from off screen but they have the low accuracy thing like archers. Which is kinda bad since they can hit the ground at your feet and cause the explosion to catch you. Especially in the non-level ground of the ToV arena.

Yeah, the splash damage is brutal sometimes and also the amount of consecutive attacks landing on Ryu's face mid combo/jump or UT. Can't wait to try this with better fps.
I'm currently struggling with ToV 4. More splash damage

If they are charging a fireball and you turn the camera, do they stop their animation? Or do they then still finish it?Farnham The Drunk wrote: ↑Thu Jun 04, 2020 2:16 pm1) Mages stop shooting completely off screenPinnacleInSync wrote: ↑Thu Jun 04, 2020 1:28 pmIt also feels the agresssion can vary to insane levels, while sometimes the mages stop shooting for a little while or the IS ninjas throw a little less IS. They will still finish it, you will hear their chanting continue as well.

Re: In search of Ultraviol3nt ToV1 DS vid
yeah the thing is, if u keep em off screen they will leave u alone and only one of them usually teleports into ur view... BUT, if they are on screen for only a split second, they WILL start chanting, and that attack will be finished... also, if mages are around and u dodge jump away in one direction, they will tele next to u to grab u, so always spam A (during the jump) if u run and jump away from mages to potentially do a wind path on them if they tele towards u...

And never FS a delimbed mage, because they will go Goku on you. (b) (b) (b) FS still works.
