Ninja Gaiden 2 Joins Xbox One Backwards Compatible Library

Post by unwary » Tue Apr 16, 2019 11:44 pm

I must have impressed someone at microsoft with all my ninja gaiden streams.

First ngb gets its cover art added to twitch and now ng2 is backwards compatible after I started doing all those ng2 challenge runs :thumb:

Finally. I'm surprised it took so long.

Hell yeah!! Just saw this too.

Been waiting to revisit NG2, this is great news. Hopefully it plays nicely on the regular x1, depending on how 'enhanced' it is on the x1x (seriously MS get your shit together with these console names...) I might be tempted to splurge!

I honestly can't believe it :surprise: Will have to try it out soon.
Looks like the Xbone is guaranteed to stay plugged in after Halo MCC is out on PC.

Correlation or not, thank you Unwary \^_^/

:cheer: ....someone please report on how the staircase challenge performs! This is interesting. Could be a game changer if the performance has improved. Not just on the staircase, but in the game as a whole. :deepthought:

This has to be the worst death that I've seen in ng2 :picard:

I hate that boss. I had a good hour of that crap happen on a fat ps3, the overheating alone was already driving me nuts. It was summer, too, and I had the ps3 sat on the sill of an open window in my flat, hoping mildly warm air would help cool down hot a system.

Hearing a lot of reports about dropped inputs though, Iconoclast also posted a video about it. Hope they fix it, have had it quite a lot too regarding directional inputs. Game runs super smooth though.

The game runs extremely well on XB1s despite the little framerate slowdown on the staircase fight. In overall, very solid to release this on the XB1. Now hope that PS4 gets backwards compatibility so that we can play older games like CoD and NGS and NGS2. Because the Playstation Now feature is not really that good because if your internet falls off then you're screwed

PS Now's ok, but you're not playing enhanced versions of the games, so it's not really offering anything other than mild convenience. I'd prefer proper backwards compatibility, like the Xbone - with enhancement, but Sony doesn't think it's worth the time and hassle. PS3 games are not easy to emulate.

Pretty happy about this and NGB (and I think 3RE also got it?), although I'm not that into gaming nowadays having another option to preserve those games is always nice. Also it may bring new blood to the community.
