I cleared TOV 4 with 3x FS. A bit luck based. No good strat.

Currently in Chapter 11.

Kudos for posting about the guard reset. First Time I fought the bosses, especially Elizabet, blocking all of their 3-4 combo attacks, which I initially thought it's impossible due to their regular guard breaking hits.

I do find that after guard reset, I can furious wind (blue streak) immediately after to position for a follow up attack on the bosses. It works wonderfully.

Anyway, can bosses still damage you slightly during blocks? I'm sure Volf and Elizabet comes into mind. There is no "no damage just guard"?

Getting more in depth with the combat system helps.

Updates:

completed Talons. Best gauntlet weapon I had the pleasure of using so far.

Currently on flails.

I really missed the MNM days. Went back to play on MNM, tried to combo and realized the reason why I chose to play on mentor.

1. I can only survive with UTs in MN with minimal combos at last enemy.

2. Usually at my current skill level I'll get owned by enemies if I try no UT.

3. Mentor has much lesser enemies than MNM though. Chapter 11 - 422 kills ONLY.

4. Anyone manage to complete a minimal UT survival run using only one weapon in MNM?

MNM > mentor still.

I forget, are you doing the ToVs as well? I like the flails, but there are so many long combos, my fingers hurt using them.

Hi Reim,

yes. Maintained the original plan of OLB, 3 ninpo slots, all TOVs.

so far cleared 1. DS 2. talons 3. DCTF 4. Tonfas and currently on flails.

I like the flails for its long combos and "dmc3/bayonetta" combo potential which I have seen online youtube from the users "nxspace" and ""miduki ashino".

However, it takes a lot of getting used to for me due to the FS which can be interrupted with IS or projectiles in general.

Have not reached first boss yet in chapter 1 as was messing around.

Definitely TDS. But the talons come across as a very close second. As we all know DS is the most versatile weapon in the game. Talons are superb, but I do find its limitation in taking out the two headed spin robots with the talons combo. But that's the only weakness IMHO.

DCTF is alright, a tad too powerful with xyyy and 360y.

DCTF and TDS are my favorites. I never got into the claws. The moves seemed too temperamental.
