"The Xbox Live servers for the original Xbox are gone forever, however anyone who still wants the DLC for vanilla Ninja Gaiden can still acquire it. With the link below, you can download an installer that will add Hurricane Pack: Volume I and Hurricane Pack: Volume II to your Xbox's hard drive. I did not make this installer, so credit goes to the original creators. I haven't tested this, as I don't own the game, but supposedly HP2 requires that you be signed into Xbox Live, while HP1 should work fine. This is for use on the original Xbox, not an Xbox 360."

Not sure if you need a hacked xbox. If no one tests this out before Saturday, I will pull out my Xbox from the dust and let you guys know how it works.
Re: Hurricane Pack 1 and 2 Installer
Holy shit, I need to try this.
Please do post your findings when you try it out, if you do need a hacked Xbox then hopefully I can find one somewhere

Re: Hurricane Pack 1 and 2 Installer
I'll look around for it and I'll see what I can do for this.
I cannot guarantee I'll find anything here but I'll try nontheless

Holy hell if anyone can check if this works let it be known. I'll buy an original Xbox asap.

Re: Hurricane Pack 1 and 2 Installer
Hey guys, just registered to say that this DLC installer does indeed work (as well as other DLC installers/patches for the the original Xbox, try the digiex forum for more installers). However (a big caveat)... Saves from both Hurricane Pack 1 & 2 are required to play them, as Hurricane packs cannot be started now that Xbox live for classic Xbox is defunct (just to dispel a myth in this thread, you absolutely cannot start Hurricane Pack 1 without the save). Also, yes, a (soft)modded Xbox is required, because EEprom.bin file is required (an HDD key unique to every Xbox) and a way to use FTP to transfer files onto the Xbox (for example, using FileZilla).
How would this work?
You would need to:
1) Play Ninja Gaiden on the original Xbox to create a folder numbered "54430003" in UDATA/TDATA folders on E: partition (http://www.xbox-games.org/ - here's a database of UDATA/TDATA folders for most of the games)
2) FTP the DLC installer over to the Xbox and run it, install both DLCs (they're about 80-120mb in size, I forget now) and the title update
3) Get the saves (preferably from the first save point in both Hurricane pack 1 & 2)
4) Download, FTP and run "ConfigMagic 1.6" on Xbox, backup the EEprom.bin (and only backup, don't fiddle with other settings, especially NOT the lock/unlock options, very important)
5) FTP the EEprom.bin backup and other files over to the PC, open EEPROMBackup.TXT, and find the HDD key (it's a 32 character key, for example mine is XBOX HDD KEY = A327A3294C2E6D6DCC2165039D9D03DF and this is UNIQUE to my Xbox and my Xbox alone, you cannot use it, incidentally I have two modded Xbox consoles and the other HDD key is XboxHDKey = 9019DDE482BAB31931992E98A26706C9)
6) Download xsavsig005 and add the following lines to the "resign.ini" file
7) Open the xbhddkey.ini file and edit the line:
HDDKey=00000000000000000000000000000000
Replace the zeroes with your HDDkey. It should have the same number of characters (32)
8) Run the XSigSig.exe program
9) Type "AGREE" (in all caps) and hit return
10) In the Sign section, select "Ninja Gaiden Save File"
11) In the File section, press the "..." button and select the save file (save00x.dat) and press the "Open" button
12) Press the "Apply" button. This will fix the key
13) Press the "OK" button
14) Do this for each save game
15) Now FTP the saves onto your Xbox in the UDATA folder numbered "54430003" (TDATA folder is mostly reserved for DLCs and titles updates)
I've already done this with 6 regular saves, so the method works. I'm not 100% positive it'll work on Hurricane Pack 1 & 2 saves.
I've found someone on YouTube who has both saves, but alas, he doesn't have a modded Xbox so he can transfer these files (it's required). I've also found someone on GameFAQs and I'm waiting for a reply now, but I doubt he has an Xbox that's modded. I've posted on a couple of different forums all in the hopes of finding them.
So, yeah, I've mostly figured out a way to play these DLCs, I just need the save files now.

Wow, that's a really helpful first post. Welcome to the forums, mate.

Re: Hurricane Pack 1 and 2 Installer
Thanks. I was hoping this would be useful for Ninja Gaiden fanatics, as this is a piece of NG history, it's also important for game preservation as there's no way to start playing these DLCs as of right now without the saves.

Re: Hurricane Pack 1 and 2 Installer
Welcome and thanks for the info Frolsa84!
Re: Hurricane Pack 1 and 2 Installer
I've never modded an x-box before. I have HP saves. Can I mod my x-box and give others the saves? (I have no idea how this works).
Re: Hurricane Pack 1 and 2 Installer
Yes, you can mod it or have someone mod it for you (I'm not sure where you live), however, it'll cost you either way.
There are a couple of methods:
1) Softmod; easiest method and doesn't require opening the Xbox, it's also the easiest to "break", you need:
a) Dashboard version 5960 (Settings -> System Info -> wait for it to scroll down to D:version, if you don't have 5960, you'll have to use one of the games that have that update ->http://xbmcxbox.blogspot.rs/p/dashboard-5960.html, basically a lot of the games post and including Halo 2 have this update, if you have played NGB, you probably have this dashboard already)
b) Xbox controller to female USB adapter (http://www.amazon.com/Generic-Adapter-C ... GHZH9PQ4PA)
c) the original, first release of Splinter Cell (not the re-releases like "Classics")
d) a pen drive (now, the Xbox is really finicky with pen drives, the smaller the better seems to be the case, under 1gb)
There are a couple of videos on YouTube about this method. Some of them suggest deleting your saves, but I don't think you have to do that. Always remember to do a backup of your EEprom.bin, this file's very important.
2) Softmod using Hot Swap method; technically you don't even have to softmod the Xbox to transfer the files this way if you don't want to, however this technique does carry some inherent risk, because you'll be working with components that are plugged in, you need:
a) Torx 20 screws to take the 6 bottom screws out, 4 under the feet (don't remove the feet entirely if you care about them) and 2 under the stickers, taking the top off (pretty sure you don't have to take out the HDD for this)
b) audio CD or DVD (some of the Xbox DVD drives are picky about CD's) to copy a song to the HDD
c) a spare IDE cable
d) and... a motherboard with an IDE port (older motherboards)
Basically, you copy a song to the HDD, play it for a while to "unlock" the HDD, then quickly swap the IDE cables while the PC is on, open the Xplorer360 beta 6 and explore the partitions (this is a method I used to softmod one of my Xbox consoles), then copy the entire Partition 4 (that's where the save games for me were) to the PC. As I said, this method is somewhat dangerous... This is also the cheapest method. Torx screws cost me about 1.50$ (some Chinese ones) and I used the IDE cable from my other Xbox.
3) solder a chip to it, don't have much experience with it, I always had someone do it for me, incidentally, I bought an Xbox with the chip still on it
4) TSOP; again, soldering involved, so it's somewhat of an advanced method, you can't TSOP an Xbox that's version 1.6, TSOP is only possible on versions 1.0-1.5.
Unfortunately, you can't use the regular memory card to transfer the save files as they're protected (to prevent cheating back in the day I guess).
Somewhat overwhelming, so the best thing would be to find someone who already has a modded Xbox and these saves.
There are many advantages to modding an Xbox though - no need for discs, upgrading to a larger HDD (for all methods!), much improved loading times and so on.

Re: Hurricane Pack 1 and 2 Installer
So if i'm reading all this correctly, there might be a way to play these again with a hacked save?
Team Ninja went insane with the security for the master ninja tournament. I think a lot of that code made it into Black as well, as those saves corrupt a lot for people (on 360.)

Re: Hurricane Pack 1 and 2 Installer
There's a site i'm a member of that sells softmodded xboxes called theisozone.com. his name is zombiegauge and here's a link if you are interested http://theisozone.com/market/. They are really expensive but i t can be a source at least. I purchased one from him for 160 bucks and he packages it with alot of emulators, Beats of rage games and coinops.
Re: Hurricane Pack 1 and 2 Installer
Can anyone reupload it , the original link is dead. Thanks.
Re: Hurricane Pack 1 and 2 Installer
Has anybody had success with this? I just bought a modded Xbox, but the directions in Froisa's post are way over my head.
Re: Hurricane Pack 1 and 2 Installer
Success!!! I got it to work and I can now play the Hurricane Packs on my new modded original Xbox!
The directions were way over my head at first, but YouTube is a godsend, and now I know what it means when the directions say shit like "FTP it to the console," and I sort of know how to hack into and read and edit code. The directions above and here (https://assemblergames.com/threads/ninj ... 1-2.66117/) aren't completely noob friendly, so there was some struggle.
I live in a big city, so there were a bunch of modded Xboxes on Craigslist, and I picked one up that has a bunch of emulators and games on it. Had to buy an Xbox controller port to female USB adaptor as well as a very low capacity thumb drive, and I downloaded several pieces of software that my computer wanted to warn me were shady, but everything is still working. If you want to soft mod your Xbox yourself, you're going to also need to buy a game with exploitable game save files (or something like that) like the original Splinter Cell.
I played for a little while tonight, not much. Holding down the block button at all times is drilled into us from the beginning, but learning a new way to play will be fun. It's why I went through all this trouble!
