Re: Master Ninja - DS only, no UT, no Ninpo, no Healing, no Izuna Drop, no Fun

Can't be any worse than Karma Running :P And yeah I've recorded it but I'm not going full speed on it. Getting the Ground Floor Archive Challenge, Red/Blue Hydracubus gauntlet and Alma out of the way would be enough to convince myself to really commit to finishing the run. Farnham told me some of th...

Re: Obscure Mechanics

I knew of a number of these but in general this is a great thread that makes me nostalgic for the days when I could actually play this game pretty well lol. > OLIRY is better than Izuna This is one of my chapter 1 staples and even if you had ID / after you upgrade the sword I agree it's still prefe...

Re: Master Ninja - DS only, no UT, no Ninpo, no Healing, no Izuna Drop, no Fun

Made it to 102 kills then died from help splitter interrupted by cat fiend swipe attack What a grind :banghead: Anyway, I think I've got the feel for it now, at least if I keep the composition mostly to 2 reds 1 cat. I think one of the things I wasn't good at at first was dealing with the cat-fiends...

Re: Obscure Mechanics

OT Cancelling Dragon Sword Run X is another one that can quickly go to OT. Dragon Sword XXXY lets you just mash Y at the end to go for an OT, and the sidestep on that move also has neat iFrames. On Landing While Running This is definitely something I've been trying to make more use of lately, but I...

Re: Master Ninja - DS only, no UT, no Ninpo, no Healing, no Izuna Drop, no Fun

Been playing this on and off. Got chapter 6 out of the way, time for the ground floor archive challenge. Anyone got any pro tips for the cat fiends? I had a go on my level 2 DS mid-chapter 6 practice save, I didn't really have a handle on avoiding their flying swallow. Also it seems like it's easies...

Re: Some NGII questions

8) Only noticed this point today, but Volf's "mid combo" shoulder charge seems to be a preset combo that he does when he parries you. You get a "ping", then two swipes, then the charge. But he can also branch from the two hits into a different scythe combo, which makes it seems like he just randomly...

Re: Master Ninja - DS only, no UT, no Ninpo, no Healing, no Izuna Drop, no Fun

Anyone who's done this challenge or something similar got any insight into what makes IS/Vigoorian ninjas set up their grab? I haven't played NGB *too* much and this is one thing I don't really get, but it's really getting to me right now. From what I've seen so far they usually do it from a roll, w...

Re: Some NGII questions

LT+A on water allows you to sharply change direction while water running rather than turn in a large radius. It's actually at the bottom of every movelist. I think I remember Farnham saying it gives i-Frames but the move doesn't give you a phantom trail or anything special. I've also watched this vi...

Re: Some NGII questions

1) It seems like it does give you extra karma in story mode. Here JTB picks up the Giant Crystal Skull about 58 min in, goes back to ToV 7 and finds that his golden Van Gelf kill bonus went up from 4275 to 4500 (about 1h03m in the VOD) twitch.tv/videos/652604761 2) I only know for the Windmill Shuri...

Re: Survival Missions - High Scores, Strategies and Discussion.

Managed to get a top 10 Kusarigama (at least by the front page) on video. The death was absolute BS but whatever, I'll take it for now. Will get that and Tonfa edited and uploaded soon. On one hand i'm feeling better consistency with the Kusa and want to really push for a good Master Ninja run, on t...

Re: Survival Missions

Hmm, I do have that tonfa one on video but I sorta held off on doing anything with it because I thought I could do a fair bit better on the score. I actually deleted 8.3M Kusarigama without looking at the front page of this thread and realising it's my best score *relatively* speaking :flame:. Well,...

Re: Survival Missions

Longtime lurker first time poster. Been playing this for a while and just finished beating the Acolyte round with every weapon :cheer: Currently sitting at: Dragon Sword - 6.375 M, Warrior Mages/Zombies Flails - 4.192 M, Warrior Giant Mech/Red Gajas Tonfa - 12.28 M, Master Ninja Giant Mech/Red Gajas...
